Hey Julie, I was not far from you at the Zepplin gig, I was working that for Festival Welfare, I also worked security on the Slade tour in Blackburn. Amy, I have missed a couple of years but it is 40 years since my first one day festival(Third Ear Band, Kevin Ayers), same year I interviewed Marc Bolan for the college newspaper, and 39 since my first 3 day festival (Weely). I, too, am attempting to compile a list of the ones since but there are some I worked where I got in a van, got out listened to some music, threw some amps around or helped festival goers, slept in a field and went home, no idea where it was. It is possible I may also have consumed something that agreed with me. Can't remember the name of the first band I saw, I was about 11 and the people I was with said they were famous. |

| I saw a few bands with my parents as a kid, but I was a relatively late starter and the first 'proper' gig of my choice was Terrorvision at Brixton Academy on 21 May 1995, supported by EMF and Joy Rider... Not quite as classic as Slade, Thin Lizzy and Suzi Quatro or The Boomtown Rats, although I have managed to see a few classics since... |

| It's the 20th anniversary of my first Reading this year. I have missed a few over the years so this will be the 14th Reading for me. Suddenly, I feel old ......... :-p |

I did my first festival at 6 weeks old - it was the Windsor Free Festival, back in '74! Does that win for youngest?
If you were at Stonehenge or Glastonbury up to the mid 80's (or any of the littler ones over the summer) then I may well have terrorised you at some point... I have improved since then !
This is my first festival since Burningman in 2004, and the excitement finally hit when I saw the info pack email... I'm looking forward to making friends and having fun - see you there |

Hi,
I'm new to this (PAAM, not festivals!) and didn't get my arse in gear meaning when I confirmed working at the Big Chill it said I'd been placed in the long drop cleaning group (oh well). Can someone please tell me how many shifts we have to do? Is it 3 during the festival (Thurs-Sun) and then the clear up? Or 1 shift everyday for as long as we're there? If you want to swap a shift does it have to be with someone who is in your 'group' or can you swap with people doing different tasks?
Also - has anyone done the loo cleaning before? Do those shifts continue into the night? I'm basically wondering if I have to go near poop in the dark.... :-S |

I think you may be in the wrong forum.... this is for CATs and HATs... i.e volunteers.
We don't do poo cleaning... only occasional checking on facilities/services to report to shift manager to engage the poo cleaner contractors.. in this case it would assume you... are you working for DC Site services by any chance?
They have a different forum. .. try here http://dcsiteservices.com/forum/
