Info and updates for our 2016 festival staff and volunteers!

Friday, May 27, 2016

With all of the new Latitude Festival, Reading Festival, Leeds Festival and V Festival line-up announcements over the past month this can only mean we're getting closer to the start of the UK's summer festival season!

We're looking forward to welcoming all of our regular and new staff and volunteers to our first event of the summer which will be the 2016 Latitude Festival in July!

We've been receiving a lot of questions from our new festival volunteers keen to find out more about what to expect when volunteering with us and when we'll be sending out more information.

You'll be receiving a lot more from us as we get closer to the festivals but there is already quite a bit you can find out from our website and your Hotbox Events PAAM account so we'll point you towards some of that below.

In the past week we've added further information to the Event Info pages in Hotbox Events PAAM for the Latitude, Reading, Leeds and V Festival.

You'll be able to download your full staff and volunteer briefing pack a few weeks before each festival but until then we've added event notes including some basic travel info, how to find us when you arrive at the festival, our contact details and some information about the documents you need to bring with you to each festival.

We've also uploaded PDF documents which you can access via your Hotbox Events PAAM account:

  • Hotbox Events 2016 Health and Safety at Festival Sites
  • Festival Republic Fire Backpack Guidance
  • Hotbox Events EEA (European Economic Area including UK) Borders and Immigration Right to Work and Volunteer in the UK fact sheet
  • Hotbox Events Non-EEA Borders and Immigration Right to Work and Volunteer in the UK fact sheet

The information within the documents above is very important so please make sure you read it before you arrive at the festival!

Please pay particular attention to the Right to Work and Volunteer fact sheets as these explain the documents you must bring with you to prove your right to work and volunteer in the UK. If you don't bring the correct documents, you will not be able to check-in at the Hotbox Events festival office and will need to leave the festival site!

To download the documents you need to:

  • Login to Hotbox Events PAAM.
  • Select the Event Info button for the festival you've been accepted for.
  • Click the links to the PDFs (downloads section).

For any other questions a great first port of call is our festival FAQs! We regularly update our FAQs and the vast majority of questions we're asked are answered in our FAQs.

We always receive a lot of questions about how your festival shifts will be allocated; this is done online using the Hotbox Events PAAM App. We upload shift preferences 4-6 weeks prior to each festival then send you an email to let you know so you can login and choose your shift preferences. Shifts are allocated on a first come first served basis, so the earlier you applied and paid your deposit to confirm your volunteer position the more likely you are to get one of your top shift preferences! You can find out more about festival shift allocation works in our FAQs.

If you're already starting to think about what you'll need to pack for working at a festival with us a very handy resource is the PAAM Volunteer Software blog. The helpful team at PAAM have posted some very useful guides over the years including:

As ever, if you have any questions you can't find the answers to please don't hesitate to get in touch!

We're looking forward to seeing you at a festival soon!
