Positions at Reading & Leeds!

Due to cancellations a limited number of positions have become available at the 2010 Reading Festival and 2010 Leeds Festival!

We have just reopened applications within Hotbox Events PAAM. Please note this is the last time we will be reopening applications in 2010!

If you have applied and paid a deposit to work at the 2010 Latitude Festival or 2010 Big Chill Festival you don't need to pay another deposit as one deposit covers you for all the festivals you would like to work at each year!

If you haven't yet applied for a 2010 festival with Hotbox Events, following application you will need to pay your deposit - details of how to pay your deposit are provided within Hotbox Events PAAM.

There are a very limited number of positions available so please do apply and pay your deposit ASAP if you would like to join us!

New Big Chill Staff Positions Available!

Hotbox Events has been asked to supply 3 extra (paid) staff for the Big Chill Festival! We need 3 people to drive the internal crew shuttle bus (minibus). This will mean ferrying various festival staff around the festival site.

Full briefing and training will be provided onsite.

You will need to be able to arrive onsite on Wednesday 4th August for a briefing, then available to work from Thursday 5th to Monday 9th August.

If you're interested in one of these new positions please contact us ASAP!

Please note - you will need to have a full UK driving license and be over 25 years old (insurance).

Big Chill Festival - Crew Shuttle Buses

Big Chill Republic has organised a free crew shuttle bus service to assist staff and volunteers in getting from the Great Malvern Station to the Big Chill Festival site and back!

On Wednesday 4th August the crew shuttle bus will be meeting trains arriving at Great Malvern Station at 14:00, 16:00 and 20:00.

For the way home on Monday 9th August the crew shuttle bus will be leaving the Big Chill Festival site to meet trains departing the Great Malvern Station at 16:00 and 17:00.

If you wish to take advantage of this free crew bus service you will need to show your info pack on the Wed and your crew band on the Mon.

Public buses will also be running throughout the Monday, please visit the Big Chill Festival website for info:

Big Chill 2010 CAT & HAT Info Pack!

The Hotbox Events Big Chill 2010 CAT & HAT Info Pack is now in PAAM!

The pack includes contact, travel and arrival info, where and when you're expected to book in, info about shifts, briefings, food and much much more!

You can view and/or download the pack by:

Logging into your Hotbox Events PAAM account.
Confirming your position at the Big Chill (if you haven't already).
Clicking the 'INFO & DOWNLOADS' button (to the right of the event name on your overview page).
You can find the Big Chill PDF within the 'Downloads' section of the 'INFO & DOWNLOADS' page.

We will also be posting you an Info Pack so please DO NOT print the online version if you know you will be able to receive the printed copy we will be sending (to the address on your PAAM account). The printed packs are planned to be sent out on Wednesday 28th July.

2010 Big Chill Festival Health & Safety!

Big Chill Republic's 2010 Big Chill Festival 'Health & Safety at Festival Sites Terms and Conditions for Employees 2010' is now in Hotbox Events PAAM!

This document is issued in order to ensure that the duties and rights of you, the employee, and of your employer, The Event Organiser are clear.

The Event Organiser, has a legal obligation to ensure a safe and healthy workplace. As an employee, you have rights, and you have responsibilities for your own wellbeing, that of your colleagues and to the general public. This document explains what these responsibilities are, and how you can meet them.

The Event Organiser acknowledges that production tasks do not take precedence over safety and shall ensure that safety comes first at all times.

Before you can work with us at the Big Chill Festival you MUST READ the 'Health & Safety at Festival Sites Terms and Conditions for Employees 2010'. When you book in onsite you will be asked to sign to confirm you have read, understood and agree to abide by the terms.

We will have copies available onsite but to help with expediting the booking in process - please do read via PAAM if you can.

Please find below a message received for all those who worked with Hotbox Events at the 2010 Latitude Festival...

Could you please pass on my thanks to all the CATs and HATs who volunteered at 2010's Latitude Festival.

This year they had a lot to deal with and they did it with a smile on their faces. They were asked to fulfil many different roles during the festival and rose to the challenge every time.

The support team of supervisors and management did an extremely professional job in getting information filtered through to all the volunteers and through them to the public, which during difficult and delicate times was a job very well done.

I look forward to working with you and your team of brilliant volunteers again very soon.

2010 Latitude Festival Feedback

We hope you had a great time working with us at the 2010 Latitude Festival! We've already received some fantastic feedback about the Hotbox Events CATs, HATs & Pixies which we'll be adding to the Hotbox Events website soon.

Latitude - it's going to be a hot one!

It looks like we are in for a very hot Latitude Festival! Please make sure you are prepared e.g. sunhats, sun cream, light clothing, bottles of water...

Once you're onsite and working please make sure you keep an eye on the public re the heat. Suggesting they wear a sun hat, have cream on, drink plenty of water. Please make sure you remind them of where the free water points are for refilling bottles.

Also – if someone isn't feeling great, please advise they DO NOT SHELTER IN A TENT but rather sit outside in the shade.

In case you or a festival goer forgets to bring something with you - the onsite supermarket will have good stocks of sun cream and water, there are plenty of non-food traders who will be selling sun hats...

The newly available positions at the Reading Festival and Big Chill festival have now all been filled! Many thanks to all those who applied and paid their deposits so quickly, sorry to those who missed out.

We may be reopening the Reading Festival, Leeds Festival and Big Chill Festival applications – again to fill positions due to further cancellations. Please keep an eye on the Hotbox Events News and if you haven’t already subscribe to the Hotbox Events Newsletter and join the Hotbox Events Facebook Group to keep up to date!

The first to know about festivals reopening are usually those with Hotbox Events PAAM accounts – we email all with an account when we reopen – so if you haven’t already please setup your PAAM account here.

Pixies required for Latitude Festival!

Part of the 2010 Latitude Festival Hotbox Events team will be working as Pixies! The Pixies are based within the 'In The Woods' area. The pixie role similar to the CAT role e.g. answering questions and giving directions to festival goers.

The big difference is the Latitude Festival pixies need to look like pixies! So wearing:

Pixie Hat (the smaller the better e.g. not tall pointy hats)
Pixie/Fairy Wings
Glittery Face Paint / Make up
Pixie/Fairy Dust
Pixie Ears

If you are interested in being a pixie at Latitude Festival and are able to bring along a pixie outfit, please contact us ASAP!

Please don't feel limited to the pixie costume ideas we've listed above - we're happy for you to express your pixie self as you see fit...

Please note only those who have been offered a position at Latitude Festival have the option of being a pixie - if you haven't already applied, paid your deposit and been offered a position unfortunately you'll need to wait until 2011 for the next pixie opportunity...

Latitude Festival - Green Crew Info

With Latitude Festival fast approaching Festival Republic has sent over the 2010 Latitude Festival Green Crew Info Sheet. This info sheet looks at what those working at the festival can do to help minimise their environmental impact. The biggest impacts are WASTE and TRANSPORT, and the impact of the PURCHASING you do in relation to your onsite activity.
