Hiya we're looking to arrive at the festival around 5 but there saying we've got to be there before 7 but that's unreasonable due to our travel time. Are they that strict on arrival times?

Hi,
The advised arrival time for all festivals including Download is no later than 3 hours before your briefing, the briefing is at 19:00 so we ask that you aim for 16:00 at the latest.
This is more a guide than a strict rule, as it gives you time to pass through the security checks, sign-in at our office, setup your tent etc before the briefing.
If you can't make it until 17:00 you should still be fine, you might just need to sit down for the briefing before setting up your tent etc.
