Working for Hotbox at Download 2019 was my third time at the festival but my first time volunteering; and what a weekend!
The opportunity to go to Download for free when I wouldn't have otherwise been able to afford a ticket cannot be underestimated. It was made even better by being surrounded by such wonderful metalheads on shift and in the communal areas. Everything was organised incredibly well, especially given the tricky weather. I enjoyed my shifts more than I expected, got to see all the bands I wanted, and enjoyed way too many cheap burgers from the staff meal van!
I cannot recommend volunteering with Hotbox at Download enough. Rest assured I'll be back next year!
