Hi Hayley,

I'm Mitesh from London, also a Reading virgin, coming solo and in the alpha team. So we already have something in common.

Hopefully we can get to know each other before the big weekend. That way your not as nervous when you arrive.

I' still need to work out how I'm going to get there and back ....

bakershake posted this 30 July 2013

Hi, I'm another alpha recruit, been to reading lots of times before but never as a volunteer, so it'll all be new to me too. I'm also on my own, name's Steve, travelling down from Essex. What time are you planning on getting there?

PurpleHayze posted this 31 July 2013

I'm driving from Surrey, hopefully will arrive Tuesday at12ish....if I don't get too lost!! When are you planning to arrive? Where in London are you Mitesh?

Mvagadia posted this 31 July 2013

Hayley,

I'm on Alpha team, first shift is a evening on wednesday but I didn't think we needed to be there until the Wednesday. Is that correct?

I live in North West London, a place called Harrow.

PurpleHayze posted this 31 July 2013

I think that's right, I just fancy getting there early.

bakershake posted this 31 July 2013

I'll probably head down early on the Wednesday, got two kids so am always up and about at around 6am. Yes, you can arrive anytime from Tuesday midday though, you'll have to save us a space Hayley, although you'll have got to know everyone by the time I get down there lol.

Mvagadia posted this 31 July 2013

bakershake posted this 31 July 2013

Driving down, leaving Essex about 8.30ish I think, depend on how organised I am getting stuff ready beforehand!

Mvagadia posted this 31 July 2013

Ok cool I'm trying to hitch a ride if anyone can offer a spare seat. I'm happy to pay towards petrol and provide priceless entertainment there and back.

bakershake posted this 01 August 2013

Added you on fb and sent you a message Mitesh, shoud be ok to offer you a lift though. Will sort details out on fb and arrange when and where!

PurpleHayze posted this 02 August 2013

Wish u guys were coming Tuesday!

Mvagadia posted this 02 August 2013

Hayley like baker shake said earlier save us a spot next to you if possible. Be good to be near each other

bakershake posted this 02 August 2013

Need to look at when we're going to get there, as looking at shifts we'll need to go to the 11.00 briefing! Could mean an early start on the Wednesday, or travelling down on the Tuesday perhaps?

Mvagadia posted this 02 August 2013

I'm happy to do a early leave on the Wednesday or leaving late Tuesday, as I can't get the day off work on the Tuesday.

bakershake posted this 02 August 2013

No problem Mitesh, will chat on fb, thanks :)

LukeTate89 posted this 04 August 2013

bakershake posted this 05 August 2013

Been to Reading before 6 or 7 times, so just going on what time the headline acts have been on previously!

am.bra posted this 05 August 2013

Ohh I see.. so it might not be everything lost! XD Wow, you've been there many times!! It's good to have a few Reading experts! It seems that you are all going there on Tuesday :( If anyone is planning to go on Wednesday morning please let me know! :)

Mvagadia posted this 05 August 2013

Hi All, Feel free to add me to your FB. Me and baker shake should be arriving Tuesday evening. Looking forward to meeting you all and getting to know you better in person. This is my first time so a bit nervous about what to expect. So for you regular goers, please let us know a few do's and don'ts when it comes to packing for a 4/5 day long festival.

bakershake posted this 06 August 2013

I would usually say baby wipes, but I see there are staff showers, anyone know if these are any good? Cereal bars, energy drinks etc. are good too.

LukeTate89 posted this 06 August 2013

Lynx. Lots and lots of lynx! Shower in a can! Id suggest a roll of loo roll and some alcahol gel. Otherwise same as bakershake.

PurpleHayze posted this 07 August 2013

Think ill give the showers at the sports centre a try, plus baby wipes. I'll be taking a hexamine stove and little kettle to make tea but I'm not going to bother with cooking. Still trying to find my sleeping bag, got tent sorted. Not sure how many clothes to take, might leave some spare stuff in the car incase tent gets flooded!

LukeTate89 posted this 07 August 2013

Im coming to you for tea then!

Mvagadia posted this 07 August 2013

Same I'm coming to you for tea. Hayley the Tea lady.

PurpleHayze posted this 07 August 2013

Bring your own cup! :)

Mvagadia posted this 08 August 2013

Hey Alpha Team

If anyone fancies meeting ( pre-team building) before the big Reading Festival weekend and getting to know each other better. I have 4 spare tickets for the Man Utd v Wigan community shield at Wembley this Sunday. Tickets are £55 each. Sorry Wigan fans but the seats are in the United end. I'm going with my brother. So let me know by adding me to Facebook. Mitesh Vagadia, black and white picture.

Just had my warm up gig for reading...2000 people at a Kings of Leon at Shepherds Bush. I was covered in what I can only hope was beer and loved every second! Bring on Reading!!

PurpleHayze posted this 10 August 2013

Jealous!!! Question for the guys....which beer tastes good from a can? I normally drink corona or draft cider so not sure what booze to take.

Mvagadia posted this 10 August 2013

I'm a Corona drinker myself and normally don't drink anything else. But I find Carlsburg goes down well. But it's got to be cold.

LukeTate89 posted this 11 August 2013

The new strongbow dark fruits is quite nice.

bakershake posted this 11 August 2013

It's all about Stella Artois. Warm Stella Artois ;)

Unless you're bringing a fridge or loads of ice cubes Hayley? Then you can provide us with tea and cold beverages!!! In a week's time I'll be thinking of packing, can't believe how quick the time is going now!

Mitesh - will be in touch on FB over the next week to sort out meeting up for lift - when and where!

LukeTate89 posted this 12 August 2013

Would anyone driving to Reading be intersted in doing a beer run to the local tescos at somepoint?

PurpleHayze posted this 12 August 2013

Most definitely, if we can get our cars in & out?

bakershake posted this 12 August 2013

Tesco and other supermarkets aren't that far from the campsite to walk, or there are boats up and down the river, so probably easier to do that as I think it would be difficult to get your car in and out of the car park, unless you went on the Wednesday in the day before the campers start arriving!

LukeTate89 posted this 12 August 2013

When you say \"not far\". Remember crates of booze are heavy! Haha.

bakershake posted this 14 August 2013

It'll be a good team building exercise! How many crates can Team Alpha carry between them lol! Or an excuse to not drink of course...no, that's just insane! :)

LukeTate89 posted this 14 August 2013

Hi guys, just noticed i havent left my face book. Everyone thats coming down add me. Luke Tate picture is of me and a boat in the background. 6 days guys!!

bakershake posted this 14 August 2013

Added you Luke, hope it's the right one lol!
