Hello! So I've volunteered to work Download this year. Although I have been to the festival numerous times over the years, this is the first time I have ever volunteered! So a few questionals! 1. Do I need to buy a parking pass from the festival before hand? Or is there allocated parking for volunteers? 2. When do you find out what shifts you are working? 3. Is the staff camping close to the action? 4. Is there staff lockers, or do I need to purchase this before I come? Really looking forward to 2019, meeting new people and having an aweosome time!

Hey, Joda1337!

It's great to hear you'll be joining Hotbox at Download this year!

1. Car parking is included for volunteers, just make sure you select that you'll be driving to site in your application and we'll either send a vehicle pass prior to the event or you'll be able to collect on from our office on arrival

2.Shifts are allocated 2-3 weeks before the festival. We'll be in touch nearer the time with information about the different shift patterns that will be available for you to choose from.

3. The staff campsite at Download is within a couple of minutes walk, so yes close to the action, and if everything goes to plan close to the car parks too!

4. Unfortunately there aren't any staff lockers, there are lockers available to the public in the arena and village areas. You can find more information about these via the Download Festival website, although it is unclear at the moment if these are bookable in advance. Our onsite office will be able to look after small items such your borders and immigration documents in our safes.

Hope that helps

We look forward to welcoming you to Download Festival in June!!

Hi there,

You can book lockers right now through lockerhouse.co.uk. Either in the village for the duration, although that will be when the campsite opens, not when staff arrive. The ones in the arena are on a daily basis, so you need to clear them at the end of each day.

to be fair the hotbox compound is a separate area guarded by the finest pairs of eyes in the market! ie. other volunteers...

so its pretty safe for most camping stuff, passports and important docs you need for registration can be left with HB event office and they can look after them..  as for expensive stuff leave it at home..

but what about phones! the volunteers tent has charging facilities in it and at any one time there are other volunteers in there also charging their phones so its pretty safe.. (at latitude i counted >20 phones on charge at once!)

(you could just invest in some cheap battery pack and cycle through those. (i personally use a 20000mAh one that last all weekend and more.
