geo1608 posted this 12 June 2012

Raquel this is my 4th year volunteering at latitude. I will be your friend if you like, are you on facebook? I dont live in london i am afraid but i will be the tall one in the cat compound

mellissa_ posted this 14 June 2012

Hey :)

I'm volunteering at Latitude and it'll be my first festival too! Extremely nervous. Also heading down from London. Any idea how you're getting there yet?

Mellissa

geo1608 posted this 14 June 2012

If your going on the train from london you need to get one to halesworth. There is lots of newbies at latitude and the rest of us are very friendly. Come say hi mellissa, i am the tall one and foot or two above everyone else

lepus posted this 14 June 2012

Raquel, if you want a challenge try to find someone who is not up for a drink on site

geo1608 posted this 15 June 2012

Good one tony

Amymeister posted this 18 June 2012

That's one of the things I love about being at a festival ....... having a can of cider with breakfast is practically encouraged. In real life, apprantly it's frowned upon!

thw6 posted this 18 June 2012

Kirsty there should be a shuttle bus from the station (either Halesworth or Diss)a its like a 20 min bus ride

dot1234 posted this 18 June 2012

Also going to be new to stewarding :) slightly nervous but hopefully it will still be epic! was just wondering whether the shuttle is going to be running on the Tuesday? not entirely sure how I'm getting there yet..
xx

annyong posted this 18 June 2012

I'm coming over from Berlin and don't have a tent and so if anyone has space in a tent, I would absolutely love a camping buddy. I am very friendly and easygoing and can bring yummy things. Send me a message if you think you'll have space :D thank you in advance! [:D]

Breezey posted this 18 June 2012

Can't wait - my first festival - going it alone because I love that adventure.
Look forward to meeting everyone.
Bring it on!

geo1608 posted this 18 June 2012

Welcome all newbies, there is a shuttle from halesworth at 6.09, 7.09 and 8.09 if you want to get there earlier i suggest getting a taxi as only 10 mins away.

lepus posted this 19 June 2012

I am not sure that the cost of a taxi at 20 quid is worth even your company for the day George!

geo1608 posted this 19 June 2012

Is that how much the taxi is then tony? Not sure how else you will get there earlier than the 6.09 shuttle without a taxi. My company is worth thousands.

Amymeister posted this 22 June 2012

Just seen the malarky at the Isle of Wight festival. Best start hoping for dry weather soon else Latitude could a wet one too!!!!!

Breezey posted this 24 June 2012

Hoping the clouds will be empty by then Amy :-)

geo1608 posted this 24 June 2012

Next 10 days are not good for the area latitude is in

Breezey posted this 24 June 2012

Waterproof sunscreen at the ready!!!!

geo1608 posted this 24 June 2012

It does look that way

Morton39 posted this 24 June 2012

oh dear, looks like I'll be bringing the wellies then.

Amymeister posted this 26 June 2012

If Download was anything to go by, the walking boots went back in the car on the Friday morning and the wellies stayed firmly on the feet for the rest of the weekend! I hope this isn't the case though, I get horrendously cold feet in wellies and cold feet aren't nice on the night shift :-(N

MikeMorris posted this 26 June 2012

Hopefully the Control room won't get too muddy though Amy ;)

Morton39 posted this 26 June 2012

Two pairs of socks, one thin pair as liner socks, then thicker thermal or hiking socks. Wellies are not good insulators, at least hiking boots have a lining. Keep getting up and running round the tables, that should help keep you warm too....[:)]

Amymeister posted this 27 June 2012

Na the control room doesn't get muddy but the entrance to it does and the route to the loos. It's a terrible hardship really! I could always change into slippers when I get there and leave the wellies at the door lol

MikeMorris posted this 27 June 2012

That's my plan as well. Slippers and smoking jacket for the control room, and monsoon gear for the walk to camp.

JohnnyG posted this 28 June 2012

It will be my fourth Latitude but first time as a volunteer! Don't know why i didn't do this before :)

steatk posted this 30 June 2012

I'm starting to feel nervous now, my first year at Latitude, my first year at a festival as a volunteer and on my own :-s

Breezey posted this 30 June 2012

Think of it as an adventure and all the great people you are going to meet and all the fun you will have :-)

fgibbon93 posted this 30 June 2012

heyyyy, due to my friend having to drop out being a volunteer - I am now also going solo! Slightly nervous but feel free to add me on Facebook if you would like to get to know anyone before going :)

I will be coming from Manchester![:D]

I'm trying to figure out the logistics of getting a large arm chair and a fire place to Latitude with me. We could turn CAT's corner into a lovely cosy drawing room with a roaring fire.

MikeMorris posted this 02 July 2012

I've got a trailer so if we can manage your chair, then I'll throw on a small bookcase and standard lamp. We'll have to ask Mark if he could provide us with a small Axeminster or a nice persian rug.

lepus posted this 03 July 2012

And a cocktail cabinet and beer fridge

geo1608 posted this 04 July 2012

beer is important bit i think

Morton39 posted this 04 July 2012

OOH, liking this idea, just racking my brain cell (Got to have a scan on Saturday afternoon(!) to see if they can find it first) to think what I could contribute. Being of a genteel persuasion, I'm thinking maybe a china teaset for afternoon tea and scones???

geo1608 posted this 04 July 2012

I can provide the scones and cakes for the plate then Marilyn

Amymeister posted this 04 July 2012

That's settled, afternoon tea in the CAT control drawing room then.

steatk posted this 04 July 2012

It looks like it will be a wet one :-/

Breezey posted this 04 July 2012

uuummmm are birthday candles allowed?

lepus posted this 05 July 2012

On Cakes yes, otherwise no point.

Breezey posted this 05 July 2012

of course on cake :-)

Amymeister posted this 06 July 2012

Only if it's a really big cake that we can all have a piece of! We like cake in the CAT camp ......... and haribo ......... and beer!

LizzyT posted this 08 July 2012

Hi, I am coming to Latitude on my own! Am excited but a bit nervous. I am looking forward to meeting people. I am on the Pixie shift which sounds like a lot of fun!

steatk posted this 08 July 2012

Hi, just a quick question. It says in the festival pack that there is access to hot tea and coffee. Is this in urns or is there also access to hot water for pot noodles, cuppa soups etc? Just to save me bringing my hexi burners and mess pans. Cheers.

Tavis posted this 08 July 2012

You'll be welcome to use the hot water for your snacks and own hot drinks.

steatk posted this 08 July 2012

Cool, thanks for that. That's a bit more space in my rucksack now. lol

yuki posted this 08 July 2012

Will travel from London in early Wednesday.

MylesMorley posted this 09 July 2012

Hi, this will be my third year at Latitude, but my first year volunteering.

Just wondering if there are any mobile phone charging points in the guest camping? I was planning on using my phone as my alarm to get me up for those early shifts! I know Vodafone offer charging, and too the lockers, but was just wondering if there was somewhere for staff to charge their phones.

Thanks.

Tavis posted this 09 July 2012

We will have some sockets available for mobile phone charging within the Hotbox Events compound

Breezey posted this 10 July 2012
