Hey guys! So basically this is my first time volunteering at a festival, so stoked and nervous. Was wondering if anyone was heading to Leeds? Would be great to know a few people heading there too. Alsoo does anyone know what they're doing in terms of travel arrangements? :)

Leeds! Leeds! Leeds!

However you end up travelling it's really easy to get to the site and much easier getting to crew camping than lugging your stuff across fields in the normal camping areas.

If you're driving or arrange a lift share (loads of people in the lift share thread) then the staff carpark is handily right next to the Hotbox compound (assuming it's the same place as the last few years) so not far to walk with all your stuff and we're right at the bottom of the hill so you can feel smug about all the people working for other companies struggling up the hill with all their camping gear.

Or if you end up getting public transport into Leeds city centre there's a bus which stops right outside the festival gates! The 770 public bus on the Tuesday from Leeds bus station stops outside Blue gate, but you'll have to ask the driver to let you know when to get off because it's not the most obvious and we've driven past it before. Or the festival shuttle bus on the Wednesday will take you to Yellow gate. Tell someone in a tabard that you're with Hotbox and need to get to staff camping and they'll send you over to a CAT who will radio our staff mini bus to pick you up and drop you right outside our compound. The minibus is for all staff so don't be worried if you end up on a buss full of burly security guards, just tell the driver you're with Hotbox and he'll let you know which compound is ours. The drivers are actually Hotbox staff so will be extra nice to you.

I'm doing Leeds too :) I've volunteered at festivals before, just not with hotbox and not with leeds, and the only experience I've had with R&L is a day ticket to see biffy in reading in 2013... Hoping to get talking to other people beforehand since I'm going solo!

I'm volunteering at Leeds too :) First time with Hotbox but not first time volunteering. It'll be great, you'll end up making friends pretty easily :)

Hi everyone :) I'm volunteering at Leeds too. It's my first time volunteering at any festival although I have been to Leeds 3 times before so I'm reasonably familiar with the place. I'm in group Charlie 1 so I'm planning on arriving by car on the Wednesday morning. Really don't know a lot of stuff like where to set up camp when volunteering alone but suppose it'll all become clear when we get there!
