Hi
Is the way shifts are allocated changing this year?
I have had some discussion on FB but have no recollection of reading anything about it elsewhere.

Yes - We are planning to change the way in which shifts are allocated to make it fairer for all and speed up the on-site booking-in process.

Previously we have allocated shifts on a a first-come, first-served basis upon arrival at the event however this year we are planning to trial a new process where we will allocate shifts prior to the event on PAAM.

Shifts will still be offered on a first-come, first-served basis, but we will use the date your deposit was paid as the order in which we will allocate shifts.

You will be sent further details closer to each event and will be asked to login to PAAM and select your preference of shift teams. We will be aiming to confirm shifts about eight weeks prior to each event. Maybe earlier if the events are full.

This will save SO much hanging around if it all works out. More time for drinking! Oh wait, everyone drinks in the queue anyway...

Will the new system also tell or ask which campsites/areas we want to work in?

The new system of shift allocation will ask you to rank the available teams in order of preference. The Event Managers will then go through each application in order of the deposit payment date and allocate the highest ranked team that has spaces. The campsite/area you'll work in will no doubt be decided by the Supervisor of your team once on-site. You'll need to speak to them if you wish to request a particular campsite/area ' this is best done straight after the on-site briefings.
