Hi all, I'm thinking about applying to volunteer at Leeds this year, but just wondered something.....Do a lot of people volunteer with mates or do a lot volunteer by themselves like I'm thinking of? I'm sure you meet loads of people there, but wondered for things like when you get free time to see the bands, does everyone stick together or what?

Cheers :)

Heya, there will be a mix of both, you'll get people who volunteer on their own just like your thinking of doing. In your free time when your not working you can do whatever you want, if you've met some people and they have a same taste of music they may not mind you tagging along with them. I went originally on my own and now go back each year and see the same people I met the first time I went.

Yep there's plenty of people who come on their own. Yound and old! It's basically one big family and I'm sure you'll make loads of new friends.

After your first shift you will know plenty of people. Also if you choose your shift because you want to see a particular band there is a good chance others will have done the same.
If, as i have done, you arrive on your own and have no plans you still meet people.

Best thing to do on arrival, is book in, pitch tent, find the nearest campfire/gathering of people in the compound, grab a couple of beers, join said campfire/gathering, say hello, drink said beer, make friends. Simples!
