It was my first solo volunteering event with Hotbox at Leeds Festival and I was worried going on my own having never volunteering with Hotbox before at a festival and knowing the young age of other volunteers and attendees when I'm in my late 50's. Once my tent was up and the briefing attended I was ready to go!
The days flew by and I met loads of lovely new people. The shift supervisors were awesome and really supported me when I was unsure of anything, I had such a laugh with so many people and had a brilliant time. Thank you to the supervisors, Yvonne, James and Kelly, and thank you to the Zone Manager, Izzy, for letting me drive the accessibility buggy which was great fun.
To anyone who wants to give it a go on their own next year - just do it, it's an amazing and rewarding experience!
