Eating and cooking at music festivals

Friday, June 7, 2013

With Latitude Festival approaching fast all at Hotbox Events are busy confirming our 2013 event staff, ordering the hundreds of t-shirts for our volunteers, planning out the rotas and everything else involved with making sure you all have a fantastic festival!

When we send out the info packs we'll include information about the crew facilities including the crew cafe where you can buy breakfast, lunch and dinner at reduced staff rates.

For many of us who have been attending festivals for years food can be the difference between an awesome festival and an average one, Pot Noodle's are great as an easy, quick solution but you're going to be pretty sick of them by the end of the week. If you're intending on sorting all your food before you get to the festival give it a bit of thought and try and give yourself a bit of variety in what you're eating. Don't forget to buy snacks to take with you when you're out on shift too, a biscuit or two can be just what you need to give you that little pick me up on a night shift.

Latitude Festival in particular has a great array of foods from far flung places to try, if your more of home comforts kind of person then there's a range of different gourmet burger places to try and proper wood fired pizzas to get your tastebuds tingling. We always make sure we sample at least a couple of the delights the food stalls have to offer and it really is the icing on the cake of a fantastic festival weekend.

We realise that many of you will opt for cooking your own food to save money, or head out to one of the many food vendors in the arena and campsites. If you'd like some tips about festival food have a read of this week's PAAM volunteer software blog which is all about festival food, eating and cooking!
