Will you be a Pixie Volunteer at the 2015 Latitude Festival?

Friday, June 5, 2015

The 2015 Latitude Festival is fast approaching and everyone in the Hotbox Events office is busy getting ready for the festival's 10 year anniversary!

At Latitude Festival we managed a large team of staff and volunteers working all over the festival site. We have CATs looking after the festival goers in the campsites, keeping an eye from the fire towers, helping out at the wristband exchanges, campsite gates and campervan area, working in the arena, the children's area, the guest area, and the artist campsite...to name but a few of the areas we help out with at the festival!

We also have a large team of pixies! Our pixie volunteers work in the Faraway Forest and within the In The Woods areas. Similar to our campsite teams our pixies are there to help the festival goers by answering questions, providing directions, keeping an eye out for any fire risks, working with the Faraway Forest and In The Woods managerial and security teams when the wooded areas become very busy late at night to control the crowds and make sure everyone enjoys their festival experience.

If you're hoping to join us as a pixie at Latitude this summer there is one key requirement you need to be aware of and that is you'll need to be dressed as a pixie whilst you work!

It's of course not the usual work attire so we'll offer a few pixie dress hints and tips!

The Hotbox Events office (which resembles a pixie dressing room at shift changes...) will have a selection of pixie wear including wings, ears, hats, face paint and glitter.

If you're allocated to a pixie shift please do come prepared if you can and bring your own pixie accessories! In previous years our Hotbox pixies have brought along:

  • Complete pixie outfits (use your imagination!)
  • Pixie Hats (we advise against tall pointy hats as no one likes a pixie witch!)
  • Pixie and fairy wings
  • Glitter, face paint and make up
  • Pixie and fairy dust (apparently there is a difference?!)
  • Pixie ears

Please don't feel limited to our list above, we love seeing our pixies heading out to shift and the best are usually the pixies who come prepared!

If you have any pixie questions please contact us!
