A huge thank you to our 2016 Reading and Leeds Festival staff and volunteers!

After a very busy August we're now finally back in the office and starting to get all things 2016 festivals tidied up!

So we're a little later than usual sending this out but we'd like to say a massive thank you to all of the staff and volunteers who joined us at the 2016 Reading and Leeds Festival!

We've received some wonderful feedback both during the events and since getting back from the event organisers, security coordinators, campsite managers and zone managers, about your hard work and dedication throughout the week. Every Hotbox Events volunteer plays a vital part in ensuring the customers get the most out of their festival experience; it was a pleasure to see you working closely with other onsite teams and hear such positive feedback about the fantastic job you were doing. As always we were happy to assist the festivals with additional support when required, and many of you went above and beyond to ensure this happened smoothly.

At Leeds the rain (and mud...oh god the mud!) certainly didn't dampen your spirits and it was a pleasure to visit you in your zones and see how engaged you were in your role and with the public. Thank you to the volunteers who worked in the wristband exchange on Sunday, it was lovely to see your huge smiles throughout; you provided a wonderful welcome to customers as they entered the festival. And to all those who were redeployed to assist with other areas such as the cars parks, drop off point, egress support and other specific positions throughout the week, thank you very much!

Reading was blessed with sunshine this year and with it another amazing team of hard working, happy volunteers! Our Reading managers have only had great things to say about you all! We covered Piccadilly at Reading for the first time in 2016 and it was wonderful to hear how well this went, so a big thank you everyone who worked at Piccadilly, plus our volunteers who supported the coaches on Monday, and those who performed the additional chaperone roles across the festival.

A special thanks must go to our wonderful Reading and Leeds staff team of Project Managers, Supervisors, Zone Supervisors, Control Staff, Office Managers and Minibus drivers - you all did a fantastic job of organising and supporting our volunteers throughout the week at both events for which we are very grateful!

Last but not least a big thank you to our volunteer photographers at this year's Reading and Leeds who have captured some fantastic photos of you all working at the festivals. We’re looking forward to sharing these with you all on our website and social channels soon!

For everyone wondering about deposit returns we're working on them now (it's a big task!) and they should be heading out in roughly three weeks' time! We'll keep you up to date with the process via our website's news area so please keep an eye on our updates. If you'd like to find out more about deposit returns, please head over to our FAQs for info.

Now that we've dusted off our boots (or reclaimed them from the mud for those of us at Leeds!) and are back in the office we're already looking forward to the 2017 festival season! Hopefully many of you are looking forward to joining us for more of the same next summer!

For everyone asking our 2017 festival applications are planned to open at the beginning of February.

Hopefully see you in a field soon!
