2019 Reading and Leeds Festival volunteer shift selection is now open!

Friday, August 2, 2019

If you're volunteering with us at Reading and Leeds you can now login to choose your shift preferences!

There are 23 volunteer shift patterns available at Reading, 22 at Leeds, please make sure you indicate a preference for each shift as PAAM won't let you save your preferences until you have!

We plan to start allocating Reading and Leeds volunteer shifts on Wednesday 7th August so please make sure you choose your preferences by midday on Wednesday 7th August at the very latest!

To choose your Reading and Leeds volunteer shift preferences you need to:

  1. Login to Hotbox Events PAAM.
  2. Click the Reading or Leeds Info button.
  3. Read the Shift Planner in the Shift Preferences section.
  4. Choose your Shift Preferences via the Dropdowns.
  5. Click the Update Preferences button.

Once we've allocated your shift pattern it will show as your Group at the top of your Reading or Leeds Info page.

Also, please don't forget that if you're volunteering with friends you need to make sure you've added their names to your profile – this is your last chance before Reading and Leeds shifts are allocated!

For further information about how shifts are allocated please read the information within the shift planner PDF.

Please keep an eye on your inbox, our news and socials, as we'll soon be getting in touch with further info about volunteering at Reading and Leeds including how you can login to pre-order your meal vouchers and read your Reading and Leeds Info Pack! Your pack will include a wealth of info including pre-event and onsite contact details, travel and arrival info, where and when you need to check-in at Reading and Leeds, information about festival passes, how volunteer shifts are organised, Reading and Leeds catering, your briefings and training sessions, emergency procedures, staff and volunteer roles and responsibilities at the festivals, festival security procedures, festival CCTV, Health and Safety, festival communications, info about the Reading and Leeds Green Initiatives and more!

If you've not volunteered at a festival before and you're wondering what it's like volunteering with Hotbox Events, make sure you checkout some of our staff and volunteer interviews! You'll get to hear from volunteers who have joined us talking about how they found their shifts, how they were looked after by the Hotbox team, what it was like volunteering for the first time on their own, taking on more responsibility year on year and progressing from a volunteer to staff role, and even how the experience and confidence gained has helped with their career progression away from festivals!

If you have specific questions about volunteering at festivals try our festival FAQs! They're regularly updated and packed full of answers to the questions we're usually asked, plus lots of handy hints and tips about volunteering at festivals.

If you'd like to chat with others who have volunteered with us before head to our Facebook Group and Forum on our website where you'll find both new and returning volunteers chatting about what it's like to volunteer at festivals, arranging to share lifts, asking and answering questions about volunteering at festivals...

If you'll be volunteering on your own and are a little apprehensive, don't worry, every year at least half of those who join us do so on their own the first time and then return year on year to meet up with friends they've made volunteering!

Another way to see what volunteering is like is to head over to our festival photo galleries where you'll find thousands of photos of our volunteers having an amazing time whilst volunteering with us!

If there is anything you'd like to ask or you'd just like to chat with us about volunteering, please don't hesitate to email or call the office or get in touch via one of our socials!

See you at Reading and Leeds 😊
